Assembly Engineer

1. Prototype & Product Assembly

i. Perform mechanical, electrical and electromechanical assembly of R&D prototypes and engineering samples.

ii. Interpret engineering drawings, assembly drawings, BOMs and work instructions.

iii. Ensure correct fitment, alignment, fastening, wiring and integration of components.

iv. Build prototypes and engineering samples as per defined specifications and timelines.

v. Identify assembly-related design issues and recommend improvements.

2. R&D Support

i. Support R&D engineers during new product development and prototype builds.

ii. Participate in design reviews and provide inputs from an assembly and manufacturability perspective.

iii. Assist in developing and validating assembly processes for new products.

iv. Conduct trials and experiments to improve product performance, reliability and ease of assembly.

v. Support Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) initiatives.

3. Testing & Validation

i. Conduct functional and basic performance testing of prototypes and assemblies.

ii. Assist engineers in product validation, verification and qualification activities.

iii. Identify failures, defects and abnormal conditions during assembly/testing.

iv. Document test results, observations and corrective actions.

v. Support root-cause analysis of assembly and product-related issues.

4. Engineering Documentation

i. Prepare and maintain assembly procedures, work instructions, checklists and test reports.

ii. Maintain prototype build records and engineering change documentation.

iii. Provide feedback on BOMs, drawings and component specifications.

iv. Maintain proper documentation of assembly issues and improvement actions.

5. Trouble Shooting & Problem Solving

i. Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical and assembly-related problems during prototype development.

ii. Identify recurring assembly defects and recommend preventive actions.

iii. Participate in Root Cause Analysis (RCA), 5 Why, Fishbone and CAPA activities.

iv. Work with cross-functional teams to resolve product and process issues.

6. New Product Introduction (NPI)

i. Support prototype-to-production transfer and NPI activities.

ii. Assist Production and Manufacturing Engineering teams in implementing new assembly processes.

iii. Support pilot builds and production trials.

iv. Identify potential assembly risks before mass production.

v. Assist in preparing standard assembly processes and documentation.

7. Quality & Safety

i. Ensure assemblies conform to engineering specifications and quality requirements.

ii. Follow ESD, safety and workplace procedures applicable to the product and assembly environment.

iii. Ensure proper handling, storage and traceability of components.

iv. Support internal quality audits and engineering improvement initiatives.

Pay: ₹300,000.00 - ₹500,000.00 per year
