Assembly Machine Engineer

About the role

Canyon Asia (Thailand) Limited is seeking a skilled Assembly Machine Engineer to join our engineering team in Chon Buri. This is a full-time position that offers the opportunity to work on the design, development, and optimization of assembly machinery and equipment. The Assembly Machine Engineer is responsible for maintains automated machinery used in manufacturing, focusing on assembling components into finished products. ensure production quality, troubleshoot equipment issues, and optimize assembly processes for efficiency through techniques like Kaizen or Lean manufacturing

Key responsibilities

1. Automated Machine Assembly & Setup: Assembling, installing, and configuring machinery based on technical drawings and specifications.
2. Process Optimization: Design, develop, and continuously improve manufacturing processes, jigs, fixtures, and automation solutions to increase productivity, improve product quality, reduce defects and operational costs, optimize cycle time, and enhance workplace safety.
3. Maintenance & Troubleshooting: Repairing, testing, and maintaining production line machinery to ensure consistent performance.
4. Technical Documentation: Creating manuals, reports, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for machine operation and maintenance.
5. Project Support: Supporting the installation of new equipment and assisting in the improvement of existing production lines.
6. Liaise with the QA department in resolving production issues.
7. Daily set-up control, changeover products, improvement for cycle time improvement, scrap reduction.
8. To be available for call-outs and all other reasonable overtime as necessary.
9. Monitor equipment performance, maintain maintenance schedules, and recommend improvements for longevity and reliability
10. Preventive Actions & Continuous Improvement: Identify potential production, quality, and safety risks, implement preventive measures, conduct root cause analysis, and drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, product quality, operational efficiency, and workplace safety.
11. Familiarity with 5S practices and continuous workplace improvement.

What we're looking for

1. Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related engineering discipline.
2. Minimum of 3-5 years of professional experience in mechanical engineering, with specific experience in assembly machinery design or manufacturing equipment.
3. Strong knowledge of mechanical design principles, machine dynamics, and material properties.
4. Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar design tools.
5. Experience with PLC programming and industrial automation systems is highly desirable.
6. Solid understanding of manufacturing processes and assembly line operations.
7. Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze complex technical issues and develop practical solutions.
8. Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a multi-functional team environment.
9. Knowledge of safety standards, regulations, and best practices in mechanical engineering and manufacturing.
10. Proficiency in English, both written and spoken; Thai language skills are advantageous.
11. Attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality engineering work.
