Job Summary

Shelton Outdoor Power is seeking a motivated, dependable, and detail-oriented Assembly Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for assembling, preparing, and inspecting outdoor power equipment to ensure products are properly assembled, safe, and ready for display or delivery to our customers.

The Assembly Technician will use hand tools, power tools, and manufacturer instructions to assemble a variety of outdoor power equipment. This position requires strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently while maintaining Shelton Outdoor Power's standards for quality and safety.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Assemble outdoor power equipment according to manufacturer specifications, assembly instructions, and company procedures.
• Prepare equipment for the showroom floor, customer pickup, or delivery.
• Install and assemble components, accessories, and attachments as required.
• Use hand tools, power tools, pneumatic tools, and other shop equipment safely and effectively.
• Perform basic inspections and quality checks to ensure equipment is properly assembled and functioning as expected.
• Follow manufacturer guidelines and Shelton Outdoor Power procedures when assembling and preparing equipment.
• Identify missing parts, damaged components, or assembly concerns and report them to the appropriate supervisor.
• Assist with moving, organizing, and preparing equipment throughout the assembly, warehouse, and showroom areas.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Follow all company safety policies and procedures, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Assist other departments with equipment preparation and related tasks as needed.
• Help maintain an efficient workflow to ensure equipment is assembled and ready in a timely manner.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

• Previous experience with mechanical assembly, outdoor power equipment, automotive, machinery, or related mechanical work is preferred but not required.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to work with hand tools and power tools.
• Ability to follow manufacturer instructions, assembly procedures, and detailed directions.
• Basic understanding of mechanical components and equipment.
• Ability to safely lift, move, and handle equipment, parts, and components.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
• Ability to identify potential assembly or equipment issues and communicate them to management.
• Ability to work independently while also being a dependable member of a team.
• Commitment to maintaining a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
• Forklift or warehouse experience is a plus but not required.

Pay: $13.00 - $18.00 per hour
