Assembly Technician

About the role

Guidedwave develops long-range ultrasonic inspection technology, and much of what we build is small-batch or one-of-a-kind. As our Assembly Technician, you'll work side by side with our engineers and machinists to turn designs into working transducers and inspection equipment — assembling, finishing, and testing hardware that goes out to real customers.

This is an entry-level role. If you're mechanically inclined, careful with your hands, and like learning new tools, we'll train you on the rest.

What you'll do

• Assemble mechanical and electrical components for commercial products and engineering prototypes
• Read engineering drawings and follow written procedures and verbal instructions, especially on custom builds
• Run and maintain shop equipment, including 3D printers, a CNC laser, and a waterjet cutter
• Mask and coat machined parts with Cerakote and powder coat
• Test finished ultrasonic inspection equipment
• Keep parts and hardware inventory records accurate, and work with purchasing so materials arrive on time
• Suggest improvements to assembly procedures with the engineering team
• Follow quality control and safety practices

What you need

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Comfortable using hand and power tools
• Basic computer skills
• Strong attention to detail and clear communication, both verbal and written

Nice to have (we'll train you if you don't have it)

• Soldering under a microscope
• Laser engraving or 3D printing software
• Cerakote or powder coat application
• Any shop, assembly, or electronics experience
