Assessment Development Specialist (Math)

Rex Education is seeking an Assessment Development Specialist (Math) to join our team in Quezon City, Metro Manila. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in designing, developing, and validating mathematics assessments that support learner development and educational outcomes. As an Assessment Development Specialist, you will be at the forefront of creating high-quality, pedagogically sound assessment instruments that measure mathematical competency across various levels and contexts. Key responsibilities

• Design and develop mathematics assessment tools
• Conduct psychometric analysis and validation of assessment instruments to ensure reliability, validity and fairness
• Collaborate with subject matter experts and instructional designers to align assessments with learning objectives and curriculum standards
• Review and evaluate existing assessment materials for effectiveness and recommend improvements
• Develop assessment rubrics and scoring guidelines that clearly define performance standards
• Ensure assessments are accessible and free from bias, catering to diverse learner populations
• Maintain comprehensive documentation of assessment development processes and outcomes
• Provide technical support and guidance to assessors and training facilitators on assessment implementation
• Monitor assessment results and provide data-driven insights to inform curriculum and training programme improvements
• Stay current with developments in assessment methodology, educational psychology and mathematics pedagogy

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Education, Mathematics Education, or a related discipline

• Minimum 3–5 years of experience in assessment development, educational measurement or related field

• Strong understanding of psychometric principles, including reliability, validity, item analysis and test design

• Demonstrated expertise in mathematics content and pedagogy across multiple levels (primary, secondary or vocational)

• Proficiency in assessment design frameworks and methodologies, including classical test theory and item response theory

• Experience developing assessments aligned with competency-based or standards-based frameworks

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail

• Proficiency in data analysis tools and statistical software (SPSS, R or similar)

• Experience with learning management systems (LMS) or assessment platforms is advantageous
