Job Description

ASSET ENGINEER

Shape the design of a major Northland transport corridor and build your asset engineering career in a PPP environment.

Benefits

  • Shape design decisions on a major New Zealand transport project
  • Develop alongside experienced asset, design and operations teams
  • Use mentoring and training support to grow your career

Project Information

Join ACCIONA and be part of a team delivering one of New Zealand's most significant transport infrastructure projects. The Northland Corridor, Warkworth to Te Hana (Ara Tūhono), will enhance connectivity, improve safety and support regional growth, leaving a lasting legacy for future generations.

About the Opportunity

You will support the design review process so assets are safe, maintainable and deliver value over their whole life. Working across a range of disciplines, you will influence design decisions, assess asset performance and risks, and embed long-term operation and maintenance outcomes from the outset.

This role suits an early to intermediate career engineer looking to accelerate their development in a major PPP environment. You will work alongside experienced asset, design and operations professionals and help shape a legacy asset that will serve Northland for generations.

Key accountabilities for the position will be:

  • Review asset designs for safety, maintainability and whole-of-life performance
  • Prepare operational documentation and review asset information for handover
  • Inspect construction work and monitor progress against operational requirements
  • Assess asset performance and risks, and investigate defects and failures
  • Support commissioning and operational readiness ahead of the operations phase
  • Plan asset renewals and identify ways to improve lifecycle outcomes

Required Skills and Competencies

  • Tertiary qualification in engineering, asset management, infrastructure or a related discipline.
  • Experience in infrastructure engineering, asset management, maintenance or operations on tunnels, roads, bridges or other complex assets.
  • Reviewing engineering designs and technical documentation, interpreting drawings and specifications, and construction inspection, infrastructure delivery, commissioning and operational readiness.
  • Understanding of lifecycle, reliability, maintainability and whole-of-life principles, including deterioration modelling, asset renewal and lifecycle planning.
  • Data mining and analysis of asset condition, maintenance and performance data, using asset management systems such as AWM.
  • Developing O&M manuals and operational procedures, with strong technical writing and reporting skills.

As a company that values diversity as a source of talent, we work to foster an inclusive environment that promotes respect, belonging and engagement so that all people can participate on an equal opportunity basis. We invite everyone to apply regardless of origin, circumstances, background or condition.

Applicants must be a New Zealand Resident/Citizen or hold appropriate work rights to work in New Zealand.
