Asset Management Coordinator

  • Wellington based
  • Opportunity to work with a significant national property portfolio
  • Planned preventative maintenance is a focus

Join a nationally recognised organisation and help shape the future of asset management at NZ Post.

Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role

Come and join our Facilities and Property team supporting a large and diverse property portfolio across New Zealand. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys bringing structure to complexity, working with maintenance schedules, contractors, compliance requirements, and asset information while helping implement and optimise a new asset management system.

This role sits at the heart of facilities and asset management operations. You'll coordinate planned preventative maintenance programmes, manage asset data, support compliance activities, and ensure maintenance work is effectively scheduled and tracked across multiple sites.

You'll also play a key role in working with a modern facilities management system, helping maintain accurate asset information, tracking work orders, producing reports, and ensuring data quality remains high. If you're someone who enjoys technology and finding smarter ways of working, this role will provide plenty of opportunity to make an impact.

Your key responsibilities include:

  • Coordinating planned maintenance activities across a national property portfolio
  • Managing maintenance schedules and contractor workflows
  • Maintaining accurate asset registers and service histories
  • Monitoring compliance requirements and inspection schedules
  • Producing reports, dashboards, and performance insights
  • Working with facilities managers, contractors, and internal stakeholders
  • Supporting the rollout and ongoing use of asset management technology
  • Identifying opportunities to improve processes, data quality, and asset performance.

Mōu - About you

You may come from facilities management, property, maintenance coordination, engineering support, asset management, or a similar operational environment.

You'll combine that with:

  • Strong administration, planning, and coordination skills
  • Confidence learning and using new software systems
  • Excellent attention to detail and data accuracy
  • The ability to analyse information and identify trends
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Experience working with contractors or service providers
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
  • A proactive approach and a continuous improvement mindset.

Experience with facilities management, asset management, CMMS, CAFM, ERP, or maintenance systems will be highly regarded, although training can be provided for the right person
