Assistant Accountant

The Role
This role sits within a supportive finance function and reports to the CFO. The Assistant Accountant will support core accounting and reporting activities, ensuring accurate and timely financial information to support business operations. This is a strong opportunity for someone looking to build on their accounting foundations within a commercial organisation.

Responsibilities

• Support month-end close processes, including journals, accruals and prepayments
• Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and maintain general ledger integrity
• Assist with management reporting, variance analysis and financial commentary
• Support budgeting, forecasting and financial performance reporting
• Assist with AP, AR, fixed assets and bank reconciliations
• Provide accurate and timely financial data to the broader finance team

The Candidate

• Degree qualified in Finance, Commerce, Business or a related discipline
• CA/CPA qualified or currently studying towards qualification
• 3–5 years’ experience in an Assistant Accountant or similar role
• High attention to detail and strong focus on accuracy
• Solid Excel skills and confidence working with financial systems
• Well organised with the ability to manage deadlines
