Assistant Accountant

About the role

This position supports the Finance Department in delivering accurate and timely financial reporting, project accounting, budgeting, taxation and treasury functions for the Group's property development projects. The role requires strong technical competency, attention to detail and the ability to work closely with project teams, QS, sales & marketing and external stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements and management accounts after GL closure, including analysis of month-on-month performance, actual versus budget, estimate versus budget, and current year-to-date versus prior year-to-date results
• Support the Manager in preparing executive reports on financial performance with support notes
• Draft audited financial statements, including submission to SSM, MBRS and liaison with external audit and internal auditor
• Support the Manager in planning the company's annual budget, including monitoring timelines, developing budget templates, and coordinating budget discussions with departments on assumptions, basis and justifications
• Prepare company tax submissions and payments on a timely basis and support ad hoc tax compliance matters

Requirements

• Degree in Accounting (Finalist in ACCA/CPA are encouraged to apply)
• Minimum 5 years' working experience in accounting role
• Strong financial, accounting and analysis skills
• Well versed in cash flow projection, forecasting and company treasury, cash flow management and company taxation
• Technically competent and abreast with Malaysian accounting standards and their impacts to the businesses
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office – Excel, PowerPoint presentation
• Exposure to accounting software implementation such as Account Payables, Cash Flow automation, report automation
• Independent with strong sense of responsibility and accountability
• Positive attitude with teamwork and good inter-personal skills
