Assistant Accountant

About the role

Reporting to the Company Accountant, you will play an important role in supporting the day-to-day financial operations of Pirtek New Zealand and its related entities.

Key responsibilities

• Accounts payable and accounts receivable processing
• Bank reconciliations and cash management
• Assisting with month-end and year-end reporting
• General ledger reconciliations
• Fixed asset register maintenance
• Preparation of journals and accruals
• Intercompany transaction processing and reconciliations
• Payroll administration support
• Assisting with budgeting and financial analysis
• Supporting audit and compliance requirements

About you

• A tertiary qualification in Accounting, Commerce, or a related field
• 1-3 years' accounting or bookkeeping experience preferred
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
• Strong organisational and time management skills
• Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities
• A positive attitude and willingness to learn
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
