Assistant Accountant

About the role

As our Assistant Accountant, you'll work closely with the Group Finance Manager to support the financial operations of several companies within the group. No two days will be the same, and you'll gain valuable experience across a range of industries while contributing to the continued success of the business.

Key responsibilities

• Managing intercompany reconciliations
• Assisting with group consolidation and month-end reporting
• Allocation of shared overheads accurately across locations and business units
• Journal entries of post month end journals, including accruals, prepayments and depreciation
• Maintaining fixed asset registers across multiple entities
• Reconciling group bank accounts and balance sheet items
• Supporting accounts payable and accounts receivable processes
• Credit control monitoring debtors and assisting across the group
• Assisting with preparing and filing GST, FBT for multi entities
• Oversee and support subsidiary processing and coding of accounts payable and receivables

About you

• 2+ years' accounting experience
• A relevant degree in Accounting, qualification or solid equivalent hands-on experience
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
• Experience using accounting and ERP software such as Orion, Xero or similar
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
• The ability to manage competing priorities and work across multiple entities
