Assistant Accountant

Job Summary

 We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Assistant Accountant to join our Finance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for daily accounting operations, freight-related billing, accounts reconciliation, and financial reporting. The role offers excellent exposure to the logistics and freight forwarding industry, working closely with operations, customer service, overseas agents, and management teams.

Key Responsibilities

    Handle daily accounting operations including Accounts Receivable (AR) and Accounts Payable (AP).

     Prepare and process invoices, payment vouchers, receipts, and journal entries.

     Perform bank reconciliations and maintain cash book records.

     Verify freight charges, airline costs,handling fees, and vendor invoices against operational records.

    Prepare Statement of Account, monitor aging reports and follow up on outstanding customer payments.

     Assist in month-end and year-end closing procedures.

     Support preparation of financial statements, management reports, and schedules.

     Maintain accurate accounting records and filing systems.

     Assist in budgeting, cash flow monitoring, and expense analysis.

     Coordinate with external auditors, tax agents, banks, and other stakeholders.

     Ensure compliance with Hong Kong accounting standards, tax regulations, and company policies.

     Assist in ERP/accounting system maintenance and process improvements.

     Perform ad hoc assignments and projects as delegated by management.

Requirements

     Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related disciplines.

     1-3 years of relevant accounting experience preferred.

     Experience in freight forwarding, logistics, supply chain, shipping, cargo, or transportation industries is highly preferred.

     Knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.

    Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.

     Experience with accounting software and ERP systems is preferred.

     Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese (including Cantonese and Mandarin).

     Strong analytical, organisational, and communication skills.

     Self-motivated, detail-minded, and able to work independently under tight deadlines.
