Assistant Accountant

About the role

We are seeking an Assistant Accountant to join our Finance team based in Huntingwood. Our team provides finance and corporate support services to a group of companies operating primarily in the pharmaceutical and health supplement industries.

Reporting to the Finance Manager, this role will support a broad range of accounting and finance activities across the group.

Key responsibilities

• Perform GL reconciliations for Balance Sheet and Profit & Loss accounts
• Process month-end journals and prepare management reports
• Maintain asset records and labelling for registered and unregistered assets
• Complete asset registrations and depreciation for all entities
• Reconcile asset clearing accounts and prepare CAPEX summary reports
• Complete weekly cash flow files and follow relevant approval procedures
• Assist with monthly BAS returns
• Assist with annual FBT returns
• Support the team with ad hoc tasks as required

About you

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline
• Previous experience in an Assistant Accountant or similar role
• Strong ability to prioritise and plan work efficiently to meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks and projects
• Strong attention to detail, accountability and consistency in compliance
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment with different departments and diverse personalities
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Word and Outlook, with intermediate to advanced Excel skills
• Mandarin proficiency is an advantage
