ASSISTANT ACCOUNTANT

Our client, SBC Lighting Sdn Bhd, is seeking an Assistant Accountant to join their team!
  
This is a great opportunity for an experienced accounting professional to take on a broad and meaningful role within the Accounts department. Based in Kuala Lumpur, this role offers exposure across financial reporting, audit, tax, and budgeting processes, while working closely with the Senior Group Accountant and liaising with external auditors and tax agents on key compliance matters.
  
What you'll be doing?   

• Reviewing financial reports — Review monthly reports, financial statements, and cashflow for management in compliance with accounting standards.
• Managing the annual audit — Handle the annual audit process from start to finish.
• Preparing tax computations — Prepare tax and deferred tax computations to support accurate reporting.
• Computing tax estimations — Compute tax estimation CP204 in line with regulatory requirements.
• Liaising with external parties — Liaise with external auditors and tax agents on audit and tax-related matters.
• Preparing budgets and forecasts — Prepare budget and forecast reports to support business planning.
• Performing financial analysis — Carry out financial analysis to provide insights that support decision-making.
• Supporting consolidation and reporting — Assist in consolidation and quarterly announcement processes.
• Taking on ad-hoc tasks — Assist and support on other ad-hoc tasks as assigned, contributing wherever needed.

Who are they looking for?   

• Educational background — A Diploma or Degree in Accounting provides a strong foundation for this role.
• Relevant experience — A minimum of five years of working experience in a related field is required for this role.
• Technical knowledge — Excellent knowledge of accounting regulations and procedures is important for success in this role.
• Technical proficiency — Advanced MS Excel skills, including VLOOKUPs and Pivot Tables, are expected to manage reporting and analysis effectively.
• Language proficiency — Proficiency in Bahasa Malaysia, English, and Mandarin is required, supporting clear communication with internal teams and external stakeholders.
