Assistant Accounting Manager

About the role

The Assistant Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing the Group's daily accounting operations and supporting the timely preparation of accurate financial reports. The position supervises the accounting team, coordinates month-end closing and ensures that accounting records, reconciliations and supporting documents are properly maintained. The role also supports the Senior Finance Manager in Group reporting, audit, tax compliance and the financial integration of newly acquired entities.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate the monthly, quarterly and annual financial closing processes
• Review management accounts, general ledger entries and supporting schedules
• Ensure financial reports are accurate, complete and submitted within the required deadlines
• Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger and bank reconciliations
• Review supplier invoices, payment requisitions, staff claims and supporting documents before submission for approval
• Coordinate audit schedules and supporting documents for the annual statutory audit
• Assist in preparing the annual budget and periodic financial forecasts
• Support the financial integration of newly acquired entities into the Group's accounting and reporting processes
• Allocate work and monitor the team's completion of assigned tasks
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting workflows, reporting and internal controls

About you

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline
• At least five years of relevant accounting experience, including supervisory or team-lead experience
• Strong experience in full-set accounts, month-end closing and financial reporting
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software
• Professional accounting qualification such as ACCA, CPA, CIMA or equivalent is an advantage
• Experience in a multi-entity or Group accounting environment is preferred
