Assistant Architect

About the role

KW Associate Architects Sdn Bhd is seeking an Assistant Architect to join our growing team in Kuala Lumpur. This is a full-time position based in our Kuala Lumpur office. As an Assistant Architect, you will play a crucial role in supporting the design and delivery of architectural projects, working collaboratively with senior architects and the broader design team. This position offers an excellent opportunity to develop your architectural skills and establish yourself as a valued member of our practice.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in the development and preparation of architectural drawings, designs and technical documentation for various project stages
• Support senior architects in project planning, coordination and site supervision activities
• Conduct research on building materials, construction methods, building regulations and design precedents relevant to project briefs
• Prepare presentation materials and design proposals for client presentations and meetings
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including engineers, planners and consultants to ensure integrated design solutions
• Monitor project progress and assist in ensuring compliance with building codes, regulations and sustainability standards
• Participate in site visits and inspections to assess project development and construction progress

What we're looking for

• Degree in Architecture LAM Part 1 or Part 2 or equivalent professional qualification

• Strong proficiency in architectural design software, including Revit, AutoCAD and Adobe Creative Suite

• Knowledge of Malaysian building codes, regulations and planning guidelines

• Excellent technical drawing and design communication skills

• Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment and respond constructively to feedback

• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks

• Attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work

• Previous experience on commercial, residential or mixed-use projects is advantageous
