Assistant Audit Manager

Key responsibilities

• Plan and execute external audit assignments for assigned clients, ensuring all audit procedures are performed in accordance with auditing standards and firm policies
• Supervise and mentor junior audit staff, providing guidance on audit methodologies, technical accounting issues, and professional development
• Prepare and review audit working papers, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and adherence to quality standards
• Conduct audit procedures including risk assessment, internal control evaluation, substantive testing and analytical procedures
• Manage client relationships and communicate findings, recommendations and audit conclusions to clients in a clear and professional manner
• Identify accounting and auditing issues, evaluate their significance and determine appropriate audit responses
• Review financial statements and supporting schedules for accuracy and compliance with accounting standards
• Contribute to the development of audit programmes and procedures, and assist in improving audit efficiency and effectiveness
• Liaise with clients to obtain necessary information and documentation required for audit completion

Requirments

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline
• Professional accounting qualification such as CA, CPA or equivalent audit-focused certification
• Minimum 5 years of relevant external audit experience with a professional firm or equivalent
• Strong knowledge of auditing standards and financial reporting requirements
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to evaluate complex accounting matters
• Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor junior staff members
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact effectively with clients and colleagues
• Proficiency in audit software and Microsoft Office applications
• Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of audit quality
• Professional demeanour and ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
• Experience in managing multiple client engagements simultaneously whilst meeting tight deadlines
