Assistant Bar Manager

Job Summary

The Rusty Nail is seeking a dependable and organized Assistant Bar Manager to support daily bar operations and help maintain high standards for guest service. This role will work closely with management and bartending staff to coordinate shifts, monitor inventory, support employee performance, and keep the bar operating efficiently during busy service periods.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Bar Manager with daily bar and beverage operations.
• Support bartenders and service staff throughout assigned shifts.
• Help coordinate staff coverage, shift assignments, and service priorities.
• Monitor bar inventory and assist with ordering and restocking supplies.
• Maintain organized beverage storage and bar-service areas.
• Assist with training, coaching, and onboarding of bartending staff.
• Monitor drink quality, service speed, and guest satisfaction.
• Handle guest questions and resolve service concerns professionally.
• Support POS, cash-handling, and end-of-shift procedures.
• Help control beverage waste and maintain accurate inventory practices.
• Ensure sanitation, cleanliness, and responsible alcohol-service standards are followed.
• Assist with opening and closing procedures.
• Communicate staffing, inventory, and operational issues to the Bar Manager or General Manager.

Qualifications

• Previous bartending, restaurant, or hospitality experience required.
• Prior supervisory or bar-lead experience preferred.
• Knowledge of cocktails, beer, wine, spirits, and beverage-service practices.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a busy bar environment.
• Comfortable using POS systems and handling cash transactions.
• Professional approach to customer service and employee support.
• Dependable, proactive, and team-oriented.
• Flexible availability for evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events.

Pay: $20.00 - $24.00 per hour

Expected hours: 34.0 per week
