Assistant Bar Manager

Theo's Cozy Corner Restaurant is seeking a motivated and experienced Assistant Bar Manager to support daily bar operations, supervise beverage service, and help maintain excellent customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate will have strong communication and leadership skills, knowledge of beverage preparation, and the ability to assist with staff management, inventory control, and efficient bar operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the Bar Manager with daily bar operations and service.
• Supervise bartenders and bar staff during assigned shifts.
• Help train new employees and support staff development.
• Prepare staff schedules and coordinate shift responsibilities.
• Ensure consistent beverage quality and presentation.
• Assist with beverage menu updates and specialty drink preparation.
• Monitor inventory and report low stock levels.
• Help order beverages, ingredients, and bar supplies.
• Support cost control and minimize beverage waste.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary bar area.
• Ensure compliance with applicable alcohol-service regulations.
• Promote responsible alcohol service and verify customer age when required.
• Provide professional customer service and resolve guest concerns.
• Coordinate with servers, kitchen staff, and restaurant management.
• Assist with cash handling and point-of-sale (POS) transactions.
• Monitor bar equipment and report maintenance requirements.
• Support opening, closing, and end-of-shift procedures.
• Communicate operational issues and improvement suggestions to the Bar Manager.

Qualifications & Skills

• Previous experience as a Bartender, Senior Bartender, or Assistant Bar Manager preferred.
• Knowledge of cocktails, beverages, and bar-service procedures.
• Strong leadership and team-supervision skills.
• Excellent customer-service and communication abilities.
• Understanding of inventory management and beverage-cost control.
• Knowledge of responsible alcohol service and applicable regulations.
• Familiarity with POS systems and cash-handling procedures.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Good problem-solving and multitasking abilities.
• Professional attitude and attention to detail.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Relevant hospitality training or certification preferred where applicable.

Pay: $22.00 - $27.00 per hour

Expected hours: 32.0 per week
