Touchdown Car Rentals – Queenstown

Touchdown Car Rentals is a well-established, NZ family-owned business with an excellent reputation with outstanding Google/Trip advisor reviews. We’re looking for a hands-on Assistant Branch Manager to support leading our high-performing team in Queenstown.

This role suits someone who enjoys autonomy, responsibility, and being truly valued, and who isn’t afraid to roll up their sleeves and be involved in every aspect of the business.

Pay rate: $30-32 per hour (waged)

Roster: Min 40 hours per week over 5 days, including weekends and peak travel periods

About the Role

You’ll support the Branch Manager in the day-to-day operations, leading by example on the front line while ensuring exceptional customer service, strong team engagement, and smooth, compliant operations.

Key responsibilities include:

• Leading, coaching, and supporting junior staff members
• Managing daily rental operations and customer experience
• Overseeing fleet readiness (COF, WOF, registration, grooming)
• Handling contracts, billing, and after-hours procedures
• Driving revenue through upselling and local partnerships
• Ensuring health & safety and compliance standards are met
• Assume full responsibility for the Branch in the absence of the Manager ( Two days per week)

About You

• A hands-on leader with strong customer service skills
• Organised, adaptable, and comfortable in a small team environment
• Commercially minded with experience meeting KPIs
• Calm, professional, and solutions-focused
• Holds a full driver’s licence, with the ability to drive manual vehicles
• At least two years experience in a customer facing role (car rental, hospitality, or service industries.)
