Assistant Branch Manager

Job Purpose

To lead branch setup and operational readiness, drive business growth in gold lending, build and manage a high-performing branch team, and ensure strict compliance with internal audit standards and regulatory (RBI) guidelines.

Key Responsibilities

• Branch Recruitment & Team Building:
• Source, interview, and hire local talent for key branch roles, including Gold Valuers/Appraisers, Customer Service Officers, Relationship Managers, and Security Personnel.
• Coordinate with HR to manage local hiring pipelines, campus/walk-in drives, and employee onboarding.
• Plan branch staffing levels based on business volume and operational requirements.
• Oversee initial product, compliance, and gold-appraisal training for newly onboarded staff.
• Business Development & Sales:
• Drive branch sales targets for gold loan disbursements, cross-selling products, and new customer acquisition.
• Execute local marketing activities and maintain relationships with local business communities to generate leads.
• Oversee loan renewal mix and repeat customer retention strategies.
• Gold Operations & Risk Management:
• Ensure accurate gold testing, weighing, and purity assessment following standard appraisal protocols.
• Strictly adhere to Loan-to-Value (LTV) limits and regulatory guidelines.
• Supervise safe vault management, dual-custody procedures, and daily packet verification to protect pledged gold assets.
• Operations & Compliance:
• Oversee daily branch transactions, cash management, and operational workflows.
• Maintain compliance with company policies, RBI guidelines, and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) norms.
• Ensure smooth internal and external audit processes and resolve audit queries promptly.
• Portfolio & Recovery Management:
• Track overdue loans and lead recovery efforts for early-stage delinquent accounts (0–30 days past due).
• Coordinate loan closure, redemption processes, and statutory auctions for non-performing accounts per legal guidelines.
• Team Leadership & Customer Service:
• Manage, mentor, and retain branch staff, providing regular performance evaluations and coaching.
• Resolve escalated customer grievances and ensure high-quality service delivery.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

• Hiring & Retention: Time-to-fill for open branch positions, staff onboarding timeline, and branch attrition rate.
• Growth: Total Assets Under Management (AUM) and monthly disbursement volume.
• Risk & Portfolio: Non-Performing Assets (NPA) percentage and audit compliance score.

Qualifications & Skills

• Education: Graduate/Postgraduate degree in Business, Finance, Commerce, or a related field.
• Experience: 3–8 years in banking/NBFC operations, with proven experience in branch management, team hiring, and gold loan processing.
• Technical Skills: Interviewing techniques, knowledge of gold appraisal methods, basic accounting, and branch management software.
• Soft Skills: Talent acquisition, team leadership, conflict resolution, sales strategy, and local language proficiency.

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month
