Assistant Branch Manager

Job Summary

Original Pancake House is seeking an Assistant Branch Manager to support daily restaurant operations, supervise team members, and help maintain high standards of food quality, customer service, and operational efficiency. This role assists the branch manager with staff coordination, scheduling, inventory control, guest satisfaction, and overall restaurant performance while helping create a welcoming dining experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the branch manager with daily restaurant operations and business activities.
• Supervise front-of-house and kitchen team members during assigned shifts.
• Coordinate staff assignments, shift coverage, and daily workflow.
• Help maintain consistent food quality, presentation, and service standards.
• Monitor guest satisfaction and address customer concerns professionally.
• Support employee onboarding, training, coaching, and performance feedback.
• Assist with inventory monitoring, supply ordering, and delivery verification.
• Help manage food costs, minimize waste, and maintain appropriate stock levels.
• Ensure dining areas, kitchen workstations, and service areas remain clean and organized.
• Monitor compliance with food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures.
• Assist with opening, closing, cash-handling, and shift-reporting procedures.
• Maintain accurate operational records and communicate performance updates to management.
• Identify operational challenges and recommend improvements to service efficiency.
• Perform additional management and operational duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required; hospitality or business education is an asset.
• Previous restaurant, food service, hospitality, or retail supervisory experience preferred.
• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
• Knowledge of customer service and restaurant operating procedures.
• Basic computer, POS, scheduling, and recordkeeping proficiency.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Professional attitude and commitment to guest satisfaction.
• Flexible availability for early morning shifts, weekends, and holidays as required by restaurant operations.

Preferred Skills

• Experience assisting with restaurant or branch management.
• Familiarity with breakfast restaurant operations and high-volume service.
• Strong staff coaching, scheduling, and team coordination abilities.
• Knowledge of inventory management and food cost control.
• Ability to resolve customer concerns and operational issues.
• Understanding of food safety and sanitation standards.
• Strong decision-making skills and a commitment to operational excellence.
