Assistant Brand Manager

Our client Swift Merchant (M) Sdn Bhd is seeking an Assistant Brand Manager to join their team!

This is a unique opportunity to be part of a growing team in the FMCG distribution industry. As an Assistant Brand Manager, you will play a crucial role in driving brand growth and supporting new brand launches. This is a first-of-its-kind role with no existing team structure to lean on, making it perfect for an independent operator.

Swift Merchant (M) Sdn Bhd is a leading FMCG distribution company, providing a wide range of products to modern trade chains across Malaysia.

What you'll be doing?

• Own brand marketing plans: Develop and execute brand marketing plans and A&P budgets for 8 brands.
• Manage trade marketing: Oversee trade marketing calendars, promotions, and in-store activations across modern trade chains.
• Support new brand launches: Provide forecasting inputs, marketing collateral, regulatory/labelling coordination, and KOL/campaign planning.
• Liaise with principals: Work directly with overseas principals on brand guidelines, campaign approvals, and reporting.
• Track performance: Monitor brand-level GP/A&P performance and flag underperformance.
• Coordinate with sales team: Collaborate on chain-specific listings, promo mechanics, and pricing.

Who are they looking for?

• 3-6 years experience: Candidates with 3-6 years of brand/marketing experience in FMCG or modern trade are preferred.
• A&P budget management: Experience in managing A&P budgets and trade marketing calendars is essential.
• Overseas principals: Comfortable working directly with overseas principals, including those in Thailand.
• Strong Excel/PowerPoint skills: Proficiency in Excel/PowerPoint, forecasting, and P&L literacy is required.
• Independent operator: This role is perfect for an independent operator with no existing team structure to lean on.
• Fluent in English: Fluency in English (spoken and written) is mandatory. Proficiency in Chinese and Bahasa Malaysia (spoken) is a plus.
