Assistant Builder

Shacks builds premium cabins and is expanding its production team. We’re looking for an Assistant Cabin Builder who enjoys practical work and is confident using tools. You’ll help assemble cabins using our build process, working alongside experienced team members.

The role

Assemble cabin components by following drawings, instructions and guidance from the build team.

Measure, mark, cut, position and fix materials accurately.

Use hand and power tools for assembly, fitting and finishing work.

Help prepare materials and work areas for each stage of the build.

Check that components are fitted neatly and flag any problems or missing materials.

Keep tools and the workshop organised, and follow safe working practices.

Support the team with other practical tasks as builds progress.

About you

You’ve used hand and power tools and are comfortable with hands-on work.

You can follow instructions, ask questions when needed and learn new processes quickly.

You take care with measurements and the quality of your work.

You’re reliable, punctual and happy to work as part of a team.

You’re comfortable with the physical aspects of workshop and cabin assembly work.

Experience in construction, carpentry, joinery, van conversions or similar work would be useful, but you don’t need to be a qualified tradesperson. We’ll show you our assembly method; a practical attitude and willingness to learn matter most.
