About the role

The Buyer Assistant and Inbound Support is a dual-role position supporting both the Buying and Warehouse Operations teams. This role provides an opportunity for an enthusiastic and reliable team member to develop skills across fresh produce procurement, inventory control, inbound operations, and warehouse processes. Working closely with the Buying Team, the successful candidate will assist with the purchasing of fresh fruit and vegetables through the Adelaide Produce Market, using established buying processes, supplier relationships, and guidance from senior team members. The role will also support the Inbound Team with goods receiving stock management, replenishment, and general warehouse operations to ensure the efficient movement and availability of product.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Buying Team with the daily procurement of fresh produce based on customer requirements, stock needs, and buying guidelines
• Support the purchasing process using the Buyers Sheet and established company procedures
• Communicate with suppliers and market contacts to support effective supplier relationships
• Assist with monitoring produce availability, quality, pricing, and market conditions
• Monitor daily stock levels and assist with maintaining accurate inventory records
• Complete stock checks, counts, and system updates as required
• Receive and process incoming deliveries in accordance with company procedures
• Check incoming goods against purchase orders, delivery documentation, and system records
• Assist with picking, packing, wrapping, labelling, and preparing customer orders
• Follow company policies, procedures, and workplace health and safety requirements
