Cafe Ambio, set in the beautiful surroundings of Whinlatter Forest, is looking for a Cafe Assistant Manager to join our friendly, hardworking team.

This is a hands-on role, ideal for someone with café or hospitality experience who’s ready to take on more responsibility while still enjoying being part of day-to-day service.

The Role

You’ll support the Cafe Manager in the smooth running of the café and take responsibility during the manager’s days off. Duties will include:

• Covering the Cafe Manager’s days off and leading shifts
• Cashing up and handling end-of-day procedures
• Ordering stock and monitoring inventory
• Assisting with planning staff rotas
• Supporting the team during busy service periods
• Working as part of the café team in a general assistant role (serving customers, food prep, cleaning, etc.)
• Helping maintain high standards of customer service, cleanliness, and food safety

About You

• Previous café, hospitality, or supervisory experience preferred
• Confident handling cash and basic admin tasks
• Organised, reliable, and able to lead by example
• A team player with a positive, can-do attitude
• Comfortable working in a busy, customer-facing environment
• Flexible to work weekends and holidays as required
