Assistant Cafeteria Manager

The Burlington Public Schools is seeking an energetic, hardworking individual to add to the food service program. This is a permanent position for 30 hours a week (6 hours daily) reporting to the Director of Food Services and the Cafeteria Manager.

General responsibilities include the efficient operation of the kitchen in cooperation with the Manager, and assisting the manager in the following functions:

• Collaborate with the Manager to ensure the efficient operation of the kitchen.
• Assist in the preparation and serving of meals.
• Support cleanup operations for the kitchen and equipment.
• Monitor cash receipts and perform cashier duties as needed
• Carry out additional tasks as directed by the Manager.
• Maintain sanitation and safety standards according to ServSafe protocol.

Must be reliable, flexible, and enjoy working in a team environment. Must be ServSafe trained. Must be able to follow all safety standards as well as lift and occasionally move up to 30 pounds.

Compensation & Benefits: In Accordance with the current School Cafeteria Employees Contract. Starting rate is $23.53/hour

Location: Pine Glen Elementary School

Hours: 7:30am-1:30pm

Start Date: Position is available immediately
