Assistant Category Manager

Leadership:

• Build and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders across Operations and other functions to ensure alignment with procurement objectives and business needs
• Promote ethical practices, individual integrity, and SSP brand values across all procurement activities
• Work closely with the Purchasing Manager to align priorities, seek guidance on key decisions, and escalate significant risks or issues where required

Strategy Support & Execution:

• Develop and manage assigned category budgets and cost management initiatives to deliver year-on-year cost improvement, including tracking and reporting of benefits
• Drive cross-functional initiatives with Operations, Costing, Marketing, Regional teams, and external stakeholders to translate business plans into effective execution
• Develop and implement procurement-related SOPs, including product specifications, receiving and rejection processes, and service level agreements (SLAs), with appropriate checkpoints and performance tracking
• Analyze procurement and business data to identify potential risks, unfavorable trends, and significant deviations from budget, and recommend appropriate actions

Lead and follow up on assigned projects initiated by SSP Group Purchasing, such as 12PPP, and provide timely

Category Management:

• Manage assigned categories and drive strategic sourcing activities to achieve cost effectiveness, security of supply, quality, and technical specification compliance
• Identify potential suppliers, lead supplier negotiations within the assigned scope, and develop supplier partnerships to secure competitive commercial terms
• Manage the RFP process in conjunction with the Category Manager and APAC teams to secure competitive bids and ensure proper supporting documentation
• Assess supply risks related to contracts and supplier agreements and implement appropriate mitigation actions in consultation with the Purchasing Manager

Profit & Loss:

• Take ownership of maintaining accurate and up-to-date raw material costs and ensure timely updates to relevant systems and stakeholders
• Proactively identify, quantify, and implement cost-saving opportunities within assigned categories, and track the realised benefits
