Assistant Chemist/ Chemist (secondment to CLP)

We are looking for some high caliber individual to join us. Reporting to CLP supervisor directly, the appointee will be responsible for but not limited to the following:

Responsibilities:

• Sample collection and laboratory sample preparation and testing;
• Operation, implementation, and maintenance of HOKLAS quality work standards to achieve high standard of test results and service;
• Verification of test results and issuing of laboratory reports;
• Handling and pollution control of toxic and hazardous material within CLP local and HKSAR Government regulatory limits;
• Assistance of continuous improvement of the chemistry services;
• Assistance CLP staff in carrying out the ad hoc sample(s) or new testing development.

Requirements:

• Holder of Higher Diploma in Chemistry or related disciplines with 2- 3 years laboratory working experience;
• Have experience in instrument usage and handling (e.g. GCMS, UV/Vis, XRF, etc.);
• Ability to achieve fundamental requirements to meet the HOKLAS accreditation standard;
• Responsible, self-motivated and cooperative;
• Good service attitude and interpersonal skills;
• Good understanding of Safety, Health and Environmental issues;
• Be adaptive to site environments and capable of conducting sampling works on site;
• Holder of valid Green Card will be an advantage;
• Less experienced will be considered as Assistant Chemist;
• Working at Castle Peak Power Station.
