Our facility is supported by a dedicated international team of diplomates in anesthesiology, cardiology, internal medicine, emergency and critical care, oncology, and surgery, with additional specialist services currently under recruitment. We strongly value work-life balance, collaboration, and high ethical standards in our day-to-day operations.

The Assistant Chief Operating Officer supports the Chief Operating Officer in overseeing the hospital’s day-to-day operations across veterinary services. The role focuses on ensuring high-quality patient care, efficient clinical workflows, strong staff performance, and a consistent, positive client experience. This position requires proactive leadership, operational planning, and the ability to manage multiple priorities across clinical, administrative, and support functions.

Responsibilities:

  • Support quality improvement initiatives (e.g., incident review, standardization of protocols, audit readiness)
  • Ensure consistent delivery of client service standards, including communication, complaint handling, and follow-up processes.
  • Quickly understand complex clinic workflows and identify root causes of operational issues.
  • Support business development by identifying opportunities to expand services, increase utilization, and improve revenue performance.
  • Collaborate with marketing team and clinical leadership to support strategic initiatives such as new service launches, referral partnerships, and community outreach.
  • Assist in preparing proposals for new programs, equipment, or service lines, including operational feasibility and expected outcomes.
  • Build and maintain professional relationships with key referral sources (e.g., referring veterinarians, corporate partners, community networks).
  • Support recruitment, onboarding, training, and development of operational teams.
  • Facilitate staffing plans, shift coverage, and work allocation based on demand and service requirements.
  • Assist with operational budgeting, expense monitoring, and cost control initiatives.
  • Partner with finance and management on forecasting, staffing costs, and operational reporting.
  • Coordinate procurement and inventory planning with supply chain team.
  • Prepare operational reports and support strategic planning for growth and process improvements.
  • Coordinate cross-functional initiatives with clinical leadership, HR, finance, and administration.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Healthcare or Veterinary Management, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 5 years or above management experience is preferred.
  • Experience working across multiple sites or locations would be an advantage.
  • Strategic thinking with attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with experience managing teams and driving performance improvements.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills (clinical leaders, staff, clients, management)
  • Ability to analyze operational data and implement practical solutions.
  • Requires the ability to work flexible hours depending on clinic needs and operational demands.
