Player Development Coach – LA Wolves Basketball (Part-Time)

Location: Los Angeles, CA (WESTLA/HOLLYWOOD BRANCH)

Pay: $20.00 per hour

Hours: 3–8 hours per week

Job Type: Part-time, seasonal (Fall 2026 season, with opportunity to continue)

Looking for at least two coaches

Schedule: Weekday afternoons/evenings and select weekends

About LA Wolves Basketball

LA Wolves Basketball is a youth AAU program serving players in the 10U through 16U age groups. We train and compete to develop skilled, confident, coachable athletes, and we use basketball to build discipline, work ethic, and character. About the Role

We are hiring a part-time Player Development Coach to lead skill-focused training for our youth players. You will run small-group and individual sessions on ball handling, shooting, footwork, finishing, and defense, and help each player build and follow a clear development plan. This role reports to the Asst. Coach / Head Coach and works closely with our coaching staff.

Responsibilities

• Plan and lead skill-development sessions for individual players and small groups

• Teach fundamentals including ball handling, shooting form, footwork, finishing, and defense

• Design age-appropriate drills and progressions for players ages 10–16

• Track player progress and share updates with the coaching staff

• Support team practices and game-day warmups as scheduled

• Communicate professionally with players, parents, and staff

• Model sportsmanship, punctuality, and the LA Wolves culture at all times

Qualifications

• College degree or currently pursuing a degree (COLLEGE STUDENTS WELCOMED TO APPLY)

• Playing or coaching experience at the high school level or above REQUIREMENT

• Strong knowledge of basketball fundamentals and drill design

• Clear, patient communication with youth athletes and parents

• Reliable transportation and availability for 3–8 hours per week

• Must be at least 18 years old

Requirements Before Starting

• Pass a background check

• Submit negative TB test results

• Complete youth-safety training

Preferred

• Experience coaching AAU, club, or school basketball

• Experience working with youth ages 10–16

• CPR/First Aid certification
