Assistant Coffee Shop Manager

Bad Ass Coffee of Hawaii is seeking a dependable and organized Assistant Coffee Shop Manager to support daily café operations and assist with leading the coffee shop team. This role involves coordinating staff, supporting customer service, maintaining beverage and service standards, monitoring supplies, and helping ensure smooth operations throughout each shift. The ideal candidate has strong communication and leadership skills and is comfortable working in a busy coffee shop environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with daily coffee shop operations and customer-service activities.
• Support the Coffee Shop Manager with staff coordination and shift workflow.
• Help assign team responsibilities and communicate operational priorities.
• Support and guide baristas and café team members during busy service periods.
• Monitor beverage quality, order accuracy, cleanliness, and customer-service standards.
• Assist with training, onboarding, and coaching new and existing team members.
• Handle routine customer questions, requests, and service concerns professionally.
• Support POS operations and routine cash-handling procedures.
• Monitor coffee, food, packaging, and café supply levels.
• Assist with ordering, receiving, organizing, and restocking supplies.
• Maintain clean, organized, and properly stocked café areas.
• Support opening and closing procedures and daily operational checklists.
• Help maintain efficient customer and order flow during busy periods.
• Communicate staffing, supply, and operational needs to the Coffee Shop Manager.
• Follow food-safety, sanitation, workplace, and company procedures.

Qualifications

• Previous coffee shop, café, restaurant, hospitality, or food-service experience.
• Previous team-lead, shift-lead, or supervisory experience is preferred.
• Strong communication, leadership, and customer-service skills.
• Dependable, organized, and comfortable taking responsibility.
• Able to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced café environment.
• Good attention to beverage quality, cleanliness, and service details.
• Familiarity with POS systems, inventory procedures, and café operations is helpful.
• Able to support, train, and work effectively with a café team.
• Professional and respectful approach to customers and coworkers.

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
