EcoCeres is a Hong Kong–grown company committed to decarbonising the world and building a greener future through innovative products, particularly Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF).

The Legal & Compliance Department plays a critical role in enabling EcoCeres' operations and safeguarding its long-term success. It is central to ensuring the Group operates with integrity and in full compliance with global regulatory standards. The Department provides strategic legal advice, navigates complex regulatory environments, develops and enforces compliance policies, conducts thorough due diligence on counterparties, and carry out investigations into potential non-compliance matters to protect the Company's reputation and interests.

Duties Of The Role

  • Serve as a critical gatekeeper based in Hong Kong with global coverage, supporting the Compliance team in safeguarding the Group and ensuring adherence to global regulatory requirements.
  • Assist in driving the formulation, implementation and monitoring of the Group's compliance policies, procedures, and corporate governance standards.
  • Perform third-party onboarding due diligence (KYC), maintaining data integrity in the onboarding database and ensuring timely periodic reviews.
  • Assist in developing and delivering physical and virtual compliance training, strengthening organisation-wide awareness and fostering a strong compliance culture.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams across the region to provide practical advice on compliance and global regulatory matters.
  • Conduct legal and regulatory research on global regulatory requirements, for example, sustainability-related laws, to support business initiatives.
  • Support and contribute to investigations into potential non-compliance matters.
  • Provide operational support to ensure the effective day-to-day functioning of the Legal & Compliance Department.

Expected Candidate Background

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in compliance, internal audit or legal; KYC experience is an advantage.
  • Degree in law, accounting, or a related discipline preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills, with the ability to assess issues from multiple perspectives.
  • Willingness to learn and research new regulatory requirements and other compliance-related matters.
  • Great communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with teams across the Group with diverse culture.
  • High level of integrity and professionalism, with a strong commitment to building a long-term career in legal and compliance.
  • Strong candidates with less experience may also be considered for the Compliance Officer role.
