About the Opportunity

Rototec is seeking a mechanically inclined construction professional to join our growing U.S. operations as an Assistant Construction Project Manager – Field Operations.

This position offers a competitive salary, hands-on training, and the opportunity to build a career in the growing geothermal construction industry.

The ideal candidate enjoys a combination of fieldwork and construction project coordination, including working with construction crews, organizing equipment and materials, communicating with customers and contractors, and helping manage projects from planning through completion.

We are looking for someone with practical construction or mechanical experience, strong organizational skills, and the initiative to take on increasing responsibility.

Previous geothermal experience is not required. We provide training in geothermal drilling, specialized equipment, and Rototec’s construction methods.

About Us

Rototec is an established geothermal drilling company with a long history of success in Europe. We are now bringing our technology, experience, and innovative drilling methods to the United States as we expand throughout the Northeast.

Our company combines technological innovation with a straightforward set of values: honesty, integrity, hard work, and doing the job right.

What You'll Do

As an Assistant Construction Project Manager – Field Operations, you will work closely with our management team, field crews, customers, engineers, contractors, and other project partners to help take geothermal drilling projects from planning through completion.

  • Support construction project coordination and day-to-day field operations on geothermal drilling projects, including site preparation, drilling operations, materials, equipment, and field crews

  • Review project plans, specifications, schedules, and scope of work

  • Assist with construction scheduling and planning upcoming work to ensure crews, equipment, and materials are ready when needed

  • Monitor project progress, schedules, costs, and quality

  • Communicate with customers, general contractors, mechanical contractors, engineers, and other project partners

  • Support jobsite coordination with field crews to keep construction activities moving safely and efficiently

  • Identify project issues early and work with the team to develop practical solutions

  • Participate in jobsite meetings and communicate project updates to management

  • Assist with project documentation, daily reports, drilling records, change documentation, and other project records

  • Help ensure work is performed according to project specifications and customer requirements

  • Support jobsite safety meetings, inspections, and risk assessments

  • Monitor equipment needs and coordinate maintenance or repairs when necessary

  • Help ensure compliance with applicable safety, environmental, and construction requirements

  • Travel to project sites throughout the Northeast as required

What We're Looking For

We're interested in someone who has gained real-world construction or mechanical experience and is ready for the next step in their career.

The right candidate will likely have:

  • Approximately 2–5 years of experience in construction, mechanical contracting, drilling, excavation, utilities, heavy equipment, field service, project coordination, or a related environment

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and an interest in equipment and how things work

  • Experience working on active construction sites

  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to keep track of multiple priorities

  • The confidence to communicate with field crews, contractors, customers, and management

  • Good problem-solving skills and the ability to make practical decisions in the field

  • A willingness to learn new equipment, technology, construction methods, and geothermal drilling practices

  • Basic ability to read construction drawings and specifications, or the aptitude and willingness to learn

  • A valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites

  • Willingness to travel regularly throughout the Northeast

Previous geothermal experience is not required.

Physical & Work Environment

This is not a desk-only project management position. You will spend significant time at active construction and drilling sites and should be comfortable working in a field environment.

The position may require:

  • Walking and standing for extended periods on active jobsites

  • Climbing, bending, kneeling, and navigating uneven terrain

  • Working around drilling rigs, heavy equipment, vehicles, and moving mechanical equipment

  • Working outdoors in varying weather conditions

  • Exposure to construction-site noise and conditions

  • Occasional lifting and handling of tools, materials, or equipment

Why Join Rototec?

  • Learn a specialized area of construction from an experienced international geothermal drilling team

  • Receive hands-on training in geothermal drilling technology and project management

  • Build your career in a growing segment of the construction and renewable-energy industries

  • Work in both the field and project-management side of construction

  • Take on increasing responsibility as our U.S. operations grow

  • Join a company where practical ability, initiative, reliability, and willingness to learn are valued

If you have construction or mechanical experience and are looking for an opportunity to move further into project management, we encourage you to apply—even if you have never worked in geothermal.
