Assistant Contract Manager

About the role

Lead and manage a team of quantity surveyors in project execution and contractual matters. Develop strategies for scope of work and contractual terms when sourcing subcontractors and suppliers. Provide contractual guidance to management, project managers, and relevant project staff. Oversee risk management, cost control, and value optimization for design and project work. Independently lead and manage projects.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage a team of quantity surveyors in project execution and contractual matters
• Develop strategies for scope of work and contractual terms when sourcing subcontractors and suppliers
• Provide contractual guidance to management, project managers, and relevant project staff
• Resolve contract disputes and contract claims, assessing entitlement for extension of time and loss/expense claims
• Ensure compliance with specific contract requirements and procedures
• Negotiate contract terms and conditions with subcontractors and suppliers
• Oversee risk management, cost control, and value optimization for design and project work
• Identify, analyze, and mitigate commercial risks
• Ensure timely finalisation of main contract and subcontract
• Perform any other ad hoc duties as assigned

About you

• Possess a degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent with relevant working experience preferably with HDB main contractor
• Strong project contracts experience within the construction industry
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills
