Ohio Mulch Supply is seeking an experienced Assistant Controller to join our growing accounting team. This position will support accounting and financial operations across Ohio Mulch Supply and our newest division, Great Lakes Equipment of Ohio.

The Assistant Controller will work directly with the Controller, CFO, company ownership, and operational leadership to ensure accurate financial reporting, strong internal controls, and an efficient month-end close process.

We are looking for a hands-on accounting professional who is detail-oriented, analytical, comfortable working across multiple business operations, and experienced with IntelliDealer or similar dealership, equipment-management, or ERP accounting software.

Key Responsibilities

• Support daily, weekly, and monthly accounting operations across multiple business divisions
• Partner with department and operational leaders to ensure accurate financial reporting
• Work directly with company ownership to produce daily financial and operational reports
• Assist with preparation and distribution of monthly financial statements
• Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules for month-end close
• Assist with accounting and financial reporting for Great Lakes Equipment of Ohio
• Utilize IntelliDealer or similar dealership/equipment-management software for accounting, reporting, reconciliations, and related financial functions
• Assist with reconciling information between accounting and operational systems
• Review financial data for accuracy and investigate discrepancies
• Maintain organized financial records and provide documentation for audits
• Help develop and maintain strong internal accounting controls
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, reporting accuracy, and efficiency
• Assist the Controller and CFO with special projects and financial analysis as needed

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field
• 5+ years of professional accounting experience
• Experience with financial reporting, month-end close, reconciliations, and general ledger accounting
• Experience with IntelliDealer or similar dealership management software is strongly preferred. Candidates with strong accounting experience using comparable ERP or business management systems will also be considered.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, lookup functions, formulas, and data analysis
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work effectively with accounting personnel, operational managers, executives, and company ownership
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a growing, fast-paced organization

Preferred Experience

Experience working in an equipment dealership, heavy-equipment company, manufacturing operation, or multi-division business is preferred.

Pay: $75,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
