The ideal candidate is a technically strong fund accountant who is pro-active, hands-on and extremely detail-oriented, yet experienced enough to see the big picture, manage a team and external service providers, and understand the fundamentals of real estate. Our tight-knit team is characterized by people who are creative, motivated, and willing to stretch and learn.

· Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual close and maintain the books for certain funds and all separately managed accounts
· Review property-level financials from operating partners and property managers and explain period-over-period balance sheet and income statement variances
· Review fund-level financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP, including investment company accounting and fair value reporting
· Oversee the fund administrator relationship, including review of quarterly/annual financial reporting, NAV calculations, capital account statements, management fee and promote/waterfall calculations
· Manage the annual audit process across all funds and entities and coordinate with tax advisors on partnership tax returns and K-1 delivery
· Coordinate the quarterly valuation process with the investment team, including maintaining valuation support and documentation
· Ensure accurate and timely dissemination of financial reports to investors, including quarterly investor reports and performance metrics (IRR, equity multiple, DPI/TVPI) and maintenance of the firm’s track record
· Coordinate and execute financial data and due diligence requests regarding performance, cash flows, and track records from current and prospective investors
· Prepare and review investor capital calls and distributions, including allocations across investors and side letter arrangements
· Monitor and manage cash and liquidity forecasts at the fund level, including subscription line and asset-level debt compliance reporting
· Manage fund level reimbursable expenses and management company expense allocations per fund documents and compliance policies
· Maintain and document accounting policies, valuation policies, and internal controls; recommend and implement process and system improvements as the platform scales
· Manage, mentor, and develop finance coordinator; set priorities and review work product
· Complete special projects as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
· CPA preferred
· BA/BS degree in Finance or Accounting
· 3-5 years of experience in financial accounting, public accounting and / or fund administration, including real estate private equity fund accounting experience
· Prior experience supervising accounting staff and managing external fund administrators, auditors, and tax advisors
· Strong technical knowledge of U.S. GAAP for investment companies and real estate, fair value measurement, and partnership accounting
· Computer literate in Windows applications and Microsoft Office programs as well as fund accounting / real estate systems (e.g., Yardi, Investran, Juniper Square); advanced Excel skills
· Proficient in common private equity distribution calculations, waterfalls, commingled fund structures, and joint venture structures
· Ability to be adaptable and flourish within a nimble, fast paced, entrepreneurial private equity investment firm while demonstrating the utmost integrity and hard work ethic
· Incredible attention to detail at all times, excellent organizational skills and follow through with deadlines met consistently
Ability to work independently while being able to contribute successfully to cross-functional teams
