Assistant Controller

Vetted Talent Group is partnering with an established manufacturing organization to identify an experienced Assistant Controller to lead its accounting and financial operations.

This is a hands-on leadership opportunity for an accounting professional who can oversee the day-to-day accounting function. The ideal candidate combines strong technical accounting skills with the ability to improve processes, develop a team, and partner closely with operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the company's day-to-day accounting and financial reporting functions
• Oversee month-end and year-end close processes
• Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements and management reports
• Manage general ledger, account reconciliations, and journal entries
• Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
• Monitor cash flow and support working-capital management
• Maintain and strengthen internal controls, accounting policies, and procedures
• Coordinate annual audits and work with external accounting and tax partners
• Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards and regulatory requirements
• Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and improve reporting
• Partner with executive leadership on financial analysis and business decisions
• Lead, mentor, and develop members of the accounting team

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Manufacturing industry experience
• 2+ years of management experience
• Progressive accounting experience with prior leadership or Controller-level responsibility
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting
• Experience managing month-end close and preparing financial statements
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to partner effectively with operational and executive leadership

Prior experience within a manufacturing or similarly complex operating environment is a plus.
