A highly respected and rapidly growing organization is seeking an experienced Assistant Controller to join its finance leadership team. About the Role

Reporting to the Controller, the Assistant Controller will play a key role in overseeing financial reporting, managing the monthly close process, strengthening internal controls, supporting audits, and developing a high-performing accounting team. This individual will also help drive process improvements, automation initiatives, and special projects across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and support monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities
• Review journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reporting packages
• Analyze financial results and ensure accurate accounting treatment
• Support external audits, tax compliance, and internal control initiatives
• Mentor and develop accounting staff, including management-level team members (up to 10)
• Drive process improvements, automation efforts, and system enhancements
• Partner with business leaders to improve visibility into financial performance
• Assist with acquisitions, integrations, and strategic projects as needed

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; advanced degree and/or CPA preferred
• 5+ years of progressive accounting leadership experience
• Prior experience leading/coaching/mentoring staff
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting
• Experience managing accounting teams and developing staff
• Advanced Excel skills and strong financial systems aptitude
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment
