Job Summary / Objectives

M Wave Design/StratEdge is seeking a Controller/Assistant Controller to join our finance team. This role will be based in either our Simi Valley facility or our Poway facility. The Controller/Assistant Controller and will report directly to the General Manager. The Controller/Assistant Controller will play a critical role in ensuring our financial records are accurate, in compliance with internal policies and generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). This individual will also support internal controls, financial reporting, manufacturing planning, supply chain management and process improvements while ensuring compliance with company policies and contract obligations.

What Your Weeks Will Look Like:

You will:

• Assist with the month-end close process, including validation of site-level financial submittals and review of balance sheet details.
• Support the annual budgeting process, including planning, execution, and reporting.
• Prepare and analyze general ledger account reconciliations.
• Assist with year-end financial audits, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
• Prepare and process monthly commission statements and payroll.
• Work with the finance team to enhance Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) controls, documentation, and policy standardization.
• Work with the Operations teams for inventory control management, including job costing, monthly inventory reconciliations, and cycle counting.
• Participate in manufacturing planning, procurement activities and other office dutites as required.
• Maintain strong professional communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Promote a continuous improvement mindset, driving business value creation.
• Manage multiple tasks effectively while motivating others within the organization.

Other Aspects of the Position:

• Will require to work in either our Simi Valley or Poway facility. 20% travel may be required.

Requirements:

The Skills You Need to be Successful:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting or financial planning & analysis (FP&A).
• Experience with manufacturing costing is a plus.
• Proficiency in working with enterprise financial systems such as OneStream (HFM-type systems) or similar.
