The Community Action, Inc. Head Start/Early Head Start (CAI HS/EHS) program provides comprehensive early education and care services for children ages 0-5 and serves more than 300 infants, toddlers, pregnant mothers, fathers and preschoolers.

CAI HS/EHS is seeking qualified candidates for the following position:

Assistant Cook

We are offering a $1000 hiring bonus.

Seeking qualified candidates for an assistant cook to provide and assist with providing healthy and nutritious meals to children. Responsibilities include but not limited to, preparing meals and snacks following the USDA, CACFP guidelines and transporting meals to a satellite site.

Appropriate candidates must be at least 18 years of age with a high school diploma or equivalent. Food service experience is preferred, but not required. A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation is necessary. Candidate must possess a Servsafe Certification and a Food Allergen Awareness Certification or willingness to complete upon hire. The position requires excellent verbal and written skills and the ability to work on a team. The position is 20 hours per week (10:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m.), 52 weeks per year. Salary is $20.33.

The position requires a successful completion of a backgrounds record check. The position will remain open until filled.
