Position Overview

The Assistant Data Platform Manager manages the daily operation of the company data platform. The role ensures business data is stable, accurate, secure, and trusted for reporting and analysis. This person will also support the migration to Microsoft Fabric, including UAT, go-live preparation, data validation, and post-go-live support.

What you’ll do:

Data Platform Operations

• Manage daily operation of the current data platform, including monitoring, incident handling, recovery, and service stability.
• Maintain data integration from D365 FO, POS, CRM/Loyalty, retail applications, and other business systems.
• Run and support data pipelines, data transformations, data checks, runbooks, and data quality controls.
• Manage data access, security, audit controls, and retention requirements based on ITpolicies.
• Support BI, reporting datasets, SSRS reports, and business data change requests.

Microsoft Fabric Migration and UAT

• Plan and manage Microsoft Fabric UAT, including scope, test cases, schedule, entry/exit criteria, and user sign-off.
• Handle UAT defects: prioritize issues, identify root cause, coordinate fixes, retest, and confirm closure.
• Validate key data between the old platform and Microsoft Fabric, including sales, members, coupons, and redemptions.
• Prepare production readiness, including performance tuning, monitoring, alerting, runbooks, security, and governance checks.
• Support go-live, cutover, parallel run, rollback planning, business communication, and post-go-live stabilization.

Candidate Requirements

• Must-have: Minimum 5 years in data engineering, data platform, BI, or production data support.
• Must-have: Experience handling data sources from ERP, POS, CRM/Loyalty, retail data, promotions, vendor management, or outsourcing support.
• Must-have: Strong SQL and experience with Azure Synapse, Azure Data Factory, Microsoft Fabric, data pipelines, lakehouse, notebooks, semantic models, SSRS, or Git.
• Preferred: Python, team coaching, UAT, cutover, go-live support, and strong communication with users and vendors.
