Assistant Debug Manager/Debug Manager

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Debug Manager / Assistant Debug Manager to lead the debug operation and technical team in an EMS manufacturing environment. The role is responsible for driving technical troubleshooting, failure analysis, debug inventory management, and KPI achievement while working closely with customers and R&D teams.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage the Debug team to achieve operational and technical KPIs.
• Manage overall debug inventory and aggressively drive the reduction of hardcore and aging boards.
• Lead hands-on troubleshooting, failure analysis, and root cause analysis for complex electronic/PCBA issues.
• Work closely with Customer, R&D, Engineering, Test, Quality, NPI, and Production teams to resolve technical issues.
• Clearly articulate technical issues, root causes, corrective actions, and solutions to customers and R&D.
• Monitor debug turnaround time, failure trends, inventory status, and issue closure.
• Drive continuous improvement to improve yield, reduce recurring failures, and minimize debug cycle time.
• Lead, coach, and develop Debug Engineers and Technicians.
• Ensure debug activities, processes, and resources are aligned with production and business goals.

About you

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or related field, with a strong EE background.
• Several years of hands-on EMS/electronics manufacturing experience.
• Strong experience in PCBA/electronics troubleshooting, failure analysis, and board-level debugging.
• Proven experience leading or managing a technical/debug team.
• Strong technical communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with customers and R&D teams.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
• Results-oriented with a strong focus on KPI achievement, debug inventory reduction, and closure of hardcore/aging boards.
• Assistant Manager to Manager-level experience will be considered, depending on technical expertise, leadership capability, and EMS experience.

Pay: RM7,500.00 - RM10,000.00 per month
