Urban Nation Apparel is a Los Angeles-based apparel company specializing in trend-driven, contemporary casualwear for the wholesale market.

We are seeking a detail-oriented, organized, and motivated Assistant Designer / Pre-Production Coordinator to support our design and product development team.

The ideal candidate has a strong interest in fashion, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple styles and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

Design & Product Development

• Assist with apparel design development, including CADs, colorways, and technical sketches.
• Prepare and update tech packs, specification sheets, and development documents.
• Research fashion trends, fabrics, colors, and trims.
• Assist with fabric and trim sourcing and approvals.
• Organize samples, fabric swatches, and development materials.

Pre-Production & Sample Coordination

• Track sample submissions, revisions, and approval deadlines.
• Review samples for construction, measurements, colors, and overall quality.
• Maintain accurate style information and production development records.
• Follow up with vendors to ensure timely sample completion.
• Support pre-production approvals and handoff to the production team.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of experience in apparel design, product development, or pre-production preferred.
• Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
• Basic knowledge of garment construction, fabrics, and measurements.
• Experience with tech packs and sample development preferred.
• Strong communication, organization, and multitasking skills.
• Detail-oriented and comfortable working with deadlines.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience working with overseas factories is a plus.

Compensation
