Assistant Design Engineer (contract)

About the role

We are looking for an Assistant Design Engineer to transform ideas into drawings and designs for various products and projects. You will experience your designs become products and machines used in the industry.

Key responsibilities

• Transform ideas into drawings and technical drawings
• Assist with prototyping and support design improvement
• Liaise with fabricator for any issues during assembly and testing
• Support installation team regarding design and drawing
• Prepare design documents and data related to discipline detail engineering
• Edit and revise drawings when there are changes in design
• Conduct tests, prepare reports and calculations to support engineering projects
• Participate in design reviews and provide feedback to improve designs
• Operate and manage 3D printing equipment for creating prototypes and parts
• Prepare digital models for 3D printing, including file conversion and setting print parameters

About you

• Engineering Diploma or Degree in Mechanical, Industrial Product Design or equivalent
• Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
• SOLIDWORKS skills would be an advantage
• Drawing and design experience is preferable
• Good knowledge on mechanical design, equipment and systems
• Good understanding of Computer Aided Design (CAD) software
• Well verbal and written communication
• Organized and able to meet deadlines
