ASSISTANT DINING FACILITY MANAGER

Salary: $30,000 - $40,000 Based on Experience, annually

POSITION SUMMARY

Food Services Inc. of Gainesville is seeking an Assistant Dining Facility Manager to support food service operations at Keesler Air Force Base.

The Assistant Manager works directly with the Dining Facility Manager to help oversee daily dining facility operations, employees, staffing, sanitation, food quality, customer service, administrative requirements, and contract compliance.

This is a hands on management position. The successful candidate must be dependable, organized, professional, and willing to work directly with employees to ensure the dining facility operates efficiently and meets military food service standards.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Assist the Manager with daily dining facility operations.

Supervise and provide direction to food service employees.

Assist with employee scheduling, staffing coverage, attendance, and performance.

Help ensure all meal periods are properly staffed and operated efficiently.

Monitor food quality, portion control, presentation, and customer service.

Ensure sanitation, food safety, and cleanliness standards are maintained throughout the facility.

Conduct routine inspections of kitchen, serving, dining, storage, and sanitation areas.

Assist with employee training, counseling, and performance documentation.

Monitor labor hours and assist with controlling overtime.

Review required meal counts, production records, sanitation records, and operational paperwork for accuracy.

Assist with inventory, receiving, storage, and supply accountability.

Help maintain the facility in an inspection ready condition.

Assist with preparation for military and government inspections.

Communicate operational concerns to the Manager and assist with corrective actions.

Work with FSIG corporate management and government representatives when necessary.

Serve as acting manager when the Manager is unavailable.

Assist with special meals, mission requirements, and other operational needs.

Perform additional management duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Previous food service supervisory or management experience is required.

Military, government, institutional, cafeteria, or high volume food service experience is preferred.

Strong leadership and employee management skills are required.

Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and proper food handling procedures is preferred.

Must have strong organizational and communication skills.

Must be able to manage multiple priorities in a busy food service environment.

Must be comfortable completing and reviewing administrative paperwork and reports.

Must be dependable and maintain a consistent onsite presence.

Must be willing to work varying schedules based on operational requirements.

ServSafe Manager Certification is preferred.

Must be able to meet all employment and installation access requirements.
