Assistant Director / 2IC – Part-Time

Exceed Early Learning Centre is a small, 20-place long day care service in North Epping, caring for children aged 1 to 5. We are looking for a warm, experienced 2IC to work alongside our Director and help lead our centre to the next level.

About the role

This is a part-time, off-the-floor leadership position. You will be the Director's right hand the person who keeps our compliance, quality and daily operations running smoothly so our educators can focus on the children.

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Child safety first championing a culture where children's safety and wellbeing come before everything else, ensuring child safe standards, supervision and child protection practices are lived every day
• Compliance keeping the centre compliant with the National Quality Framework, Education and Care Services National Regulations and NSW requirements, including policies, records, ratios, qualifications and incident reporting
• Quality Improvement Plan (QIP) owning and updating the QIP, leading self-assessment against the National Quality Standard and preparing the centre for assessment and rating
• Responsible Person acting as Responsible Person in day-to-day charge when the Director is absent, with the opportunity to become Nominated Supervisor
• Rostering preparing and managing staff rosters, ensuring ratios and qualification requirements are always met
• Program support working with our Educational Leader to implement the educational program so floor educators can deliver it with confidence
• Team support mentoring educators, supporting inductions and probation, and helping build a positive, respectful team culture
• Family relationships: building warm relationships with families and giving the Director clear guidance on any escalations
• Administration enrolments, attendance records, CCS compliance, WHS checks and general centre administration

About you

• Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care (or higher)
• Minimum 2 years' experience in a leadership, 2IC or compliance-focused role in early childhood
• Strong working knowledge of the NQF, NQS, National Regulations, and the QIP process
• Genuinely warm and caring with children, families, and colleagues alike
• Organized, reliable, and confident managing your own workload
• Clear, kind communicator who leads by example
• Current NSW Working With Children Check, First Aid (incl. CPR, asthma and anaphylaxis) and Child Protection training

Pay: $41.00 – $46.00 per hour
