Key Responsibilities
To keep institutional leadership informed with data-driven insight across NUST's endowment and commercial portfolio, supporting well-informed decision-making.
The Assistant Director Analytics serves as an independent research and analysis capacity across both the Endowment and Commercial tracks of the Directorate, providing the evidence, analysis, and consolidated portfolio view that inform leadership's judgment and decisions. The role conducts data-driven studies, portfolio-wide analysis, and policy-level research. It functions as the Directorate's business intelligence unit; reconciling heterogeneous records and data, and engineering the dashboards and analytics that make sense of that data and the underlying financial figures. It helps both tracks dig deeper into their own data, identifies data gaps that need to be closed before a decision can be made, and translates findings into policy-relevant insights and decision-support products for leadership.
a. Commissioned Studies and Policy Research. Conduct independent studies on specific institutional questions, including historical trend analysis, or other policy-level research, producing data-backed findings and recommendations.
b. Financial Contribution and Gap Analysis. Analyse the financial contribution of each arrangement in the commercial portfolio and the gaps in data and returns, flagging data inconsistencies or missing information that need to be resolved.
c. Track-Level Data and Analytics Support. Support both the endowment and commercial tracks, in interrogating their own data to surface decision-relevant patterns, functioning as the Directorate's shared analytical resource independent of either track's reporting line.
d. Decision Support. Prepare analytical briefs, studies, and decision papers synthesizing complex institutional and commercial data for leadership, including briefing on the long-term institutional positioning of the full portfolio.
e. Project Tracking. Track timelines, milestones, and stakeholder coordination for major strategic initiatives within the Directorate.
