Assistant District Attorney

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable attorney to join our legal team. This position requires excellent negotiation skills, legal research capabilities, and the ability to draft legal documents effectively. The attorney will act as district attorney in that person's absence; assists the district attorney in managing the caseload and personnel of the office.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive legal research using tools such as Westlaw to support case preparation.
• Draft legal documents, including pleadings, and motions, ensuring clarity and compliance with applicable laws.
• Represent the State in negotiations and litigation across various practice areas, including criminal law and civil law related to criminal matters.
• Collaborate with senior attorneys on complex cases while managing a caseload independently.
• Maintain accurate records of interactions and case progress within the law office.
• Stay updated on changes in legislation that may affect cases or the practice areas involved.

Experience

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• Admission to the Texas state bar in good standing.
• Strong writing skills with the ability to produce high-quality legal drafts.
• Excellent negotiation skills.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $95,000.00 per year
