Key Responsibilities

The Assistant Education Manager will assist with planning, implementing, and monitoring the Agency's education services; support teachers with curriculum implementation, lesson planning, individualized instruction, and developmentally appropriate classroom practices; and help ensure services meet Head Start Performance Standards, GSRP guidelines, licensing requirements, and Agency policies.

The position will also:

  • Support accurate and timely education documentation and contribute to ChildPlus, PIR, and internal monitoring activities.
  • Assist with children's transitions into, throughout, and out of program services.
  • Support family engagement and participate in parent meetings, conferences, and trainings as needed.
  • Collaborate with community partners, local school districts (LEAs), and higher education institutions.
  • Help maintain safe, engaging, developmentally appropriate classroom environments.

Qualifications Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a closely related field.
  • Experience teaching preschool-age children.
  • Experience supporting curriculum implementation.
  • Strong knowledge of early childhood education, child development, and school readiness principles.
  • Ability to communicate professionally, manage multiple priorities, build positive working relationships, and maintain confidentiality.

Preferred:

  • Master's degree.
  • Experience supervising, mentoring, or coaching staff in an early childhood setting.

Additional Requirements

Following a conditional offer of employment and prior to beginning employment, the selected candidate must successfully complete required pre-employment clearances, including acceptable tuberculosis screening, criminal background and sex offender registry checks, State or FBI fingerprinting, child abuse registry clearance, and an initial health examination.
